Primary News
Lesson Helps - thanks to Shelley Rowan and Lynda Whitlock for contributing material for the weekly lesson helps for the CTR and Valiant lessons! We continue to add a lesson help each week, in advance of the upcoming lessons, I hope you take a look, and send in any material for upcoming lessons so we really create a great resource for teachers. Also:
Submitted Music Helps - Elaine Del Bello has created some wonderful helps she is happy to share for music - especially for this year. I have placed them in the 2006 Primary Helps - Music Helps category. For example:
- she made a list of primary songs that support each monthly theme, so once you learn the CSMP songs (some are already familiar to the children), this is a quick list of other music you can incorporate that still goes with the theme that month.
- Scripture Hero Cards - coordinates with the theme of Scripture Power
If you have ideas for this year's music, please send them in!
New Primary Stickers - Really cute new CTR stickers are available in our store - come take a look! You will not find a better deal on the internet - we have FREE SHIPPING for all our stickers. I've checked other lds online resources and everyone else has a very limited selection of stickers, and charges around $5 to ship even one package. So stock up now!
Chorister Aprons - COMING SOON - I have designed a cute chorister bib apron with 9 musical pockets where you can hide song clues and visual aids of all sorts. Let your imagination go wild - children love to choose from the pockets - and you become your own walking visual aid! The aprons will be available soon in the LDV store.
Holiday Ideas - Valentines Day is coming soon - a host of fun ideas for various aspects of Primary are in the Holiday Ideas - Valentine's Day I have added my favorite Scriptures of Love to the Free Sampler Knowledgebase - this list of scriptures can be used in so many creative ways at home or church.
Primary Tip of the Week - Birthday Cards - In the Primary Knowledgebase, there are birthday postcards for 2006 for girls and boys,. There are also some fun non-theme birthday postcards in the Presidency Helps - Opening/Closing Exercises - Birthdays category.

We need helpers at LDV. We are looking for people to help with Primary and Young Women and Activities, Relief Society, Crafts, Scouts and other areas of interest to latter-day saints. Helpers hunt for great ideas, request permission to use them at LDV, and upload them to the Knowledgebase - it takes someone with a great interest, some time, editing skills and a good comfort level on computers/the internet. Helpers earn free subscriptions and merchandise. Contact Debra if you are interested in becoming an LDV helper!
Seminary Tip of the Week
There are two tips:
- It's not March yet, but it's time to start thinking about Madness. Linda Harper has not released her Book of Mormon March Madness activity yet, but judging from past years, it can be one of the most active, participatory, and successful scripture mastery things you do. Here are several past Madness associated activities for you to review. Of course you can make your own using clue sets from the SM package listed above!
- Looking forward to teaching DC Church History next year? The last quarter of the curriculum year contains lessons that focus on the prophets of the church. You can enhance your seminary prophet lessons by purchasing a subscription to our Prophets of the Restoration
FHE kits. Written by Debra Woods Hamilton and featuring illustrations by Scott Jarrard, these lessons contain special activities and games that your students are sure to remember. Who will forget Joseph Fielding Smith after the coloring page and the paper airplane contest? Or Wilford Woodruff after all of the bumps, bruises, and 'knots' (pun intended) he experienced. Of course your family members might enjoy the same! The kits can be ordered from your membership page.
Free Members Submit Ideas Now
WE do ask our free members to submit at least one teaching idea, object lesson, lds web link, or other shared resource each year. This is how we gather much of the resources made freely available.
Sneak Peak - Image Gallery
Still in the testing stages, you can take a peak at our image gallery. Its purpose is to give members a place to UPLOAD and download images and photos to use in teaching and sharing the gospel. Of course we are also adding some secular clipart and photos which you may also find useful. The gallery has an ecard feature, which you can use to send a card using one of the many images. NOTE: yearly paid subscribers, you will be able to create your own image galleries and photo albums.

Best Regards,
Debra Woods Hamilton, Marketing and Creativity
