SCRIPTURES IN PRIMARY - I've been hearing a discussion about how to get children to bring their scriptures to Primary.  If you use the scriptures, and give the children time to use their own scriptures on a regular basis in class and sharing time, the children will be motivated to bring their scriptures.  A fun way to include the scriptures is to do the Primary Scripture Search every month.  Each monthly scripture is featured in a search that requires the children to open their scriptures to solve - and is accompanied by a fun activity page with puzzles or games that reinforces the message of that scripture.  Check out the Primary Scripture Searches for 2006 in our Primary Knowledgebase at:
http://latter-dayvillage.com/primary/category.php?id=67  Also, there are 48 Primary Scripture Searches and activity pages in each of our Primary Scripture Search Volume II and III Books. Buy as a bundle now and save a total of $8 http://latter-dayvillage.com/proddetail.php?prod=PSSBundle

SEMINARY NEWS - from Tim Holder

NOW IS THE TIME TO PREPARE Many of you teaching seminary have only a month or less to prepare for the Doctrine & Covenants Church History curriculum. Having taught that course twice myself, it is exciting to teach so many of our latter-day revelations and church development to the youth of the church. 2. D&C specific Scripture Mastery games and activities, including the Magic Square.
  3. 300+ Teacher Resource articles, covering everything from attendance, discipline, and classroom management to holiday lessons, award programs, journals, and seminary auctions.

If you are not a subscriber, visit your membership page now to sign up for a free one-week trial. All you need is a credit card; you can cancel anytime during that first week if the filing cabinet is not what you need.

NEW CHURCH HISTORY MAP W/CUTOUTS

Last year Debra designed a 30"x30" washable felt map showing the Book of Mormon lands. It was one of our most popular shopping cart items. Now she has created a new map for teaching the D&C Church History. The map, printed by Storytime Felts exclusively for Latter-day Village, is washable and colorfast. You can lay it flat on a table or hang it on the wall to help your students follow the saints from Palmyra to Salt Lake. The main map measures 30"x24" and includes the following cutouts, which enhance the usefulness of the map:

We also provide additional graphic images you can print to use with the maps.

One week special: purchase a map in the next seven days and we will send you two sheets of DC Church History stickers, FREE of CHARGE including SHIPPING: 1) Prophets of the Restoration Stickers and 2) Church History Stickers. This special ends Saturday 7/22/2006.
