Over the weekend we upgraded the software used to power our knowledgebases

Most of the changes are for the administrators, but one major end user feature was improved. There is now an Advanced Search option that appears after the search function is used. Advanced search allows you to narrow the search by selecting one or more categories in which to resource. You can also choose to exclude categories from the search.
Prior to this upgrade some search phrases would return a VERY large set of articles. Those searches can now be narrowed to a set of categories. You select those in two ways:
- Use the CTRL key + mouse click to select several categories from the list.
- Use the SHIFT key + mouse to select a range of categories.
- You can also select a range using SHIFT and additional categories using the CRTL key.
