In doing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) research, I discovered a new way to search our email list archives. Seems that Google indexes our archives; all you have to do is use the site delimiter, add the official name of the list, and any keywords you want to search for. Here’s an example of how to search our seminary list archives:
- Go to Google.com
- In the search box, enter this text exactly (without the single quote marks) ’site:latter-dayvillage.com teachldsseminary’
- After the phrase teachldsseminary, enter any other keywords you want to help narrow your search. (No additional keywords will return over 12000 hits.)Here are three examples:
site:latter-dayvillage.com teachldsseminary christmas orange (an oft requested story)
site:latter-dayvillage.com teachldsseminary Obadiah (searching for a specific scripture block)
site:latter-dayvillage.com teachldsseminary wilford woodruff (searching for a specific scripture block) - If you do not get many results, simply remove a keyword or two and search again.
I sent this to the seminary list and should include it in our next general newsletter.
